New Customer Registration

Thank you for choosing Wyre Walkies to care for your canine companion. On this page you can find the service agreement which is a contract between me as your new dog walker, and you as my new customer. Please read in full and complete the form that follows if you agree to the terms in this agreement.

Service agreement

The customer agrees to hire the dog walker as an independent contractor to provide

services as follows:

1. Customer responsibilities

As the customer you agree to:

  • provide all information necessary to enable the walker to care for your pet(s)
  • inform the walker immediately of any known reason why any pet in your home may present a potential threat or health hazard to the walker, other animals in the walker’s care or members of the public
  • inform the walker of any previous signs of aggression displayed by any pet in your household towards people and/or animals
  • ensure a collar with ID tag and a muzzle (as required) is available prior to your dog being walked

2. Walker responsibilities

As the walker I agree to:

  • hold necessary insurance and comply with applicable regulations in order to care for your pet(s)
  • provide a professional service and treat your pet(s) with respect and care
  • take appropriate steps to protect your personal information and house keys
  • provide and use a suitable training lead while walking your dog
  • keep your dog(s) on a lead during walks until you sign an off lead consent form

3. Payment

  • Payment for the first week of services must be paid up front
  • Payment can be made by cash or bank transfer
  • The walker will issue regular customers with a reminder or invoice at the end of each month, listing services provided and the total payment still outstanding
  • Outstanding payment must be made within 10 days of the invoice being provided unless otherwise agreed

4. Cancellation, severe weather and holidays

  • The customer agrees to provide a minimum of 24 hours notice of cancellation prior to any scheduled service. If the customer cancels with less than 24 hours notice the customer agrees to pay 50% of the cost of the service(s) cancelled
  • The walker will endeavour to provide the customer with 24 hours notice of cancellation if unable to provide services due to a personal emergency
  • During extreme weather the walker may need to cancel a walk early, substitute a walk for a home visit or cancel services entirely with little or no prior notice. The decision to finish early, substitute a walk for a home visit or cancel services completely will be based on weather warnings and advice issued by the Met Office and on the dog walker’s own temperature recordings and judgement in cases of high or low outdoor temperatures that may be unsafe for dogs. The customer agrees to pay the cost of the original service(s) scheduled if a walk is ended early or is substituted for a home visit. There is no charge for services that are cancelled entirely.
  • If the walker is prevented from entering the customer’s property by any means outside of the walkers control the customer agrees to pay the full cost of services scheduled. The walker will inform the customer as necessary if the walker was unable to gain access to the customer’s property
  • If the dog’s collar and ID tag are not provided the walker will substitute a walk for a home visit and the customer agrees to pay the full cost of the original service scheduled
  • The walker will provide at least two week’s notice prior to taking planned time off work, excluding Christmas Day.
  • The customer acknowledges that the walker is not expected to provide services on Christmas Day unless this has been requested and agreed in advance each year.

5. Services

  • Group walks may take place at any time during the customer’s working day but the walker will endeavour to visit or walk the customer’s pet at a preferred time whenever possible
  • The customer recognises that the walker may need to vary the times their dog is walked in order to ensure that all dogs in the walker’s care are grouped accordingly to ensure groups get on well together. The walker may also group dogs based on location to keep travel time and cost of services to a minimum
  • Solo walks may begin and end from the customer’s home
  • Group walks will begin and end at a suitable dog walking location

6. Liability

  • The walker will maintain liability insurance at all times and show proof of insurance upon request by the customer
  • The customer remains responsible at all times for ensuring their pets are vaccinated and protected against parasites, fleas and ticks
  • The customer remains fully liable at all times for damage, loss or injury caused by their pet(s) to the dog walker or the customer’s own property.
  • The walker is not responsible for duties not explicitly listed in this agreement

7. Emergencies

  • In an emergency the walker agrees to notify the customer as soon as reasonably possible using the contact details provided
  • If the customer cannot be reached the walker or the customer’s emergency contact are authorised to take necessary action on the customer’s behalf
  • The customer agrees to reimburse the walker for all veterinarian fees incurred in the event of an emergency, up to the amount stated by the customer in the Vet release declaration section of the Customer Details Form.
